Souvenir of the History of Unbroken Poland – a trip to the Museum of the Blue Army “Hallerówka” plus the guesthouse villa “Solmare” Władysławowo 2008
“Hallerówka”
Władysławowo 2008
From our family trip in 2008 we would like to share some of our amateur photos (sorry for the poor quality!) from our 2008 visit to the Blue Army Museum “Hallerówka” dedicated to the history of the Blue Army formed in France in 1917 (including approximately 20,000 young Americans and Canadians of Polish descent), which, under the command of General Józef Haller, fought to regain independence in Poland after World War I, after more than 123 years of its loss since the first partition of Poland in 1772.
Here is the Wikipedia entry about the Blue Army:

Honor to the memory of all Hallerczyks from Poland, Europe and the USA!
We invite you to learn about the history of this extraordinary army and visit the museum in this extraordinary Władysławowo (formerly Wielka Wieś), which is mentioned in archival documents since 1284 under the name “Velaves”; “this year it is granted by Prince Mestwin to Piotr, son of Glabun, free “ab omni exactione et solutione Polonica”…
– more on this topic in the Geographical Dictionary of the Kingdom of Poland… (historical data collected in the 19th century), it is worth reading – volume XIII from page 336, under the entry Wielka Wieś, on the right at the bottom:

+ A heartfelt souvenir from Władysławowo 2008:
The last three photos in the album of this entry show one of the oldest houses in Władysławowo, the guesthouse and villa “Solmare” built before World War II, and a few words from the history of Władysławowo:
The true story of Władysławowo begins during Poland’s wedding to the sea, after regaining independence in 1919. The beauty of the landscape and the solemn nature of the undertaking, led by General Haller, led officer Lt. Col. Henryk Bagiński to purchase several dozen hectares of land. The resulting settlement, named “Hallerowo,” was located within Wielka Wieś, a village whose history dates back to the 13th century. The joint venture of Aleksander Andrzejewski , the Troliński family, and several other landowners from the area led to the creation of a small seaside resort, aptly named “Wielka Wieś Hallerowo.” Even before 1925, the village, previously a poor fishing village, began to develop its first villas and guesthouses. Jan Dworzański, General Haller’s adjunct, owned their own houses, beautiful wooden structures; the Bagiński family, who invested in the “Warszawianka” guesthouse; and the Andrzejewski family, who owned the “Solmare” guesthouse . The local population, mindful of patriotic values and filled with a desire to spread culture, founded the Hallerowa Friends Society, which initiated the settlement’s development and made it famous, at least in Poland. The Society contributed to the construction of the settlement’s first church, implementing the project of the St. Adalbert’s Chapel. - the last two photos in the album of this entry are from 2008, and for comparison, a view from the years just after the war – 1948 (the last photo).
This is one of the beautiful houses full of the spirit of family memory, which are so highly appreciated by the independent website Narodowa.pl
