A souvenir from the USA – “Poster from the US” – dedicated to helping Americans in Poland during the First World War
Hi Tad and everyone on the forum,
I believe this poster was used in the U.S. to raise funds for supporting Poland during World War I. You can see at the bottom left that a one dollar donation was given, and the contributor received a stamp to put on the poster. The intention must have been to put stamps all around the perimeter of the picture, which at $20 total would have been a significant contribution in those years.
Has anyone ever seen a poster like this one? Do you know what organization was collecting the money?
Thanks!
Sue
Thank you dear friend Sue again!,
I can not recognise this uniform, maybe it could be a HALLER’s ARMY uniform, but I could try to translate all words from this invaluable historical memento of the common history and heritage of the U.S.A. and Poland, sent by you and placed by us at our webgallery “Narodowa GA.PA”:

and please note this wonderful sentence in the middle of this poster, going with a thunder:
This is for Poland!
