“Somewhere in Poland, about 350 km south-east of the capital, 125 km from Krakow – the nearest academic center, and 40 km from the border with Slovakia, our Moszczenica is located in a deep province. A noble place, permanently connected with the history of the homeland and the region from the Piast beginnings, through numerous war turmoil and the tragedies of the partitions. There were many famous and significant people in its history. When the 1st Congress of the Moszczno Intelligentsia was organized in 1931, about 100 compatriots dispersed around the country, headed by the then ordinary of the Tarnów diocese, Fr. Bishop Leon Wałęga. Józef Rączkowski, a well-known politician and writer of the interwar period, wrote about our village: “In Moszczenica, a big, pretty, rich village (…)”. Is it like that today? ”.
